I’m an Associate Professor at the University of Toyama, Japan and a part-time PhD student with the Open University, UK. I feel my interest in investigating and improving the experiences of scholars seeking to write for academic publication, through education and improving journal review systems, meld nicely with the objectives of English Scholars Beyond Borders. My belief is that the more open and transparent scholarship is, the better it is, and I’m looking forward to contributing to the growth of this community of scholars.
If you’re interested in learning more about me, please visit my personal website at theronmuller.com. If you would like to know more about my scholarship, I regularly update my profile at academia.edu. Briefly, I’m quite proud to be the lead editor of Innovating EFL Teaching in Asia, Palgrave Macmillan, 2012 and have served as editor and reviewer with JALT Publications and the Asian ESP Journal. I’ve tried to condense my experience of academic writing, reviewing and editing into the MASH Academic Publishing Course, an online class intended to help familiarize scholars new to academic writing for publication with the opportunities and expectations of the genre.
You are also welcome to contact me if you have questions or are interested in sharing your story of trying to publish academically for my ongoing research.
